Hello guys, with the launch of Season of Discovery Phase 3, we’re back with the riddles of your new runes!
These riddles should provide you with the information you need to find your runes, whilst still keeping the nature of the rune secret and giving you that extra element of riddle-solving. All of them should guide you to the available starting zones, and guide you through the steps you need, but still leaving you with a little bit of puzzle solving!
If you’ve find any of the puzzles to be misleading or too vague, please let me know in the comments or on our discord and I’ll rectify them. Our aim is to give you another way to get your runes in a fun way.
To make these riddles I’ve followed the guides published by the wonderful people over at Wowhead who are working relentlessly to bring the WoW community all the up-to-date information.If riddles aren’t your kind of thing then head over to Wowhead where you can get concise instructions to get the runes you want to get a hold of

Rune 1:
Inside a tower, nestled deep, to Feralas hasten your feet
To the South you’ll meet an elder, talk to him, and he will help ya
- Three spirits think you weak and puny, first a tree gives you a duty
- Now magical trolls think you vexing, with smaller stature they will hex thee
- Remove this burden then head East, Spring is here you’ll have no picnics in peace
- They buzz about, and you should seek, their poisoned tails, the ailment to treat
- Back to the tree now you must run, then kill the blighted one.. Just for fun!
- This isn’t over now seek the shrine to Azshara, find a pale youngling and look no further
- Kill him quick and take his heart,to the shrine gift this trophy macabre
- To the moon now you must head, read the riddle and pass the test
- Slay your enemy and now depart, a rune for you in place of your heart
Rune 2:
To complete this rune you must gift sleep, with this in hand this you can complete
To Azshara step you softly, a temple in the West will await thee
Rummage around in a long-lost bag, collect them all lest you need come back
Read the words that once were written, collect your ingredients, they aren’t much hidden
- Alchemical wonders you have made, now to the North West you’ll find your way
- An ally awaits all bathed in Fel, gift him sleep then your potion as well
Rune 3:
In the Fallen woods, where Emeralds glisten, seek a troll who stands willing to listen
To the Highlands quick on your feet, the cruelest of trolls will meet defeat
Take their Draught, then go Down, to where Razors lay all around
- Read the Draught and heed its words until at last Agmaggan has emerged
With him converse and learn your quest, you’ve done it so far, now do the rest
- Far-rak away lays the first, kill the sea monster and then observe. A challenge you bellow and what should emerge, a ghastly specter who sees no use to converse
- This princess resides in another castle, slay the crown without much hassle. Behold again with a bellow, another specter, and another not as mellow

Rune 4:
Fer-away there is a Lass who sits at the East, waiting at last
For you to free her from mortal shell, in other words kill her, a rune here does dwell
Rune 5:
Wandering outside no Ris of getting a Tan,
He stumbles around, of collecting hes a fan
From his corpse you’ll pry his prized possession, an idol of his god to feed your obsession
Wear it with pride and then slaughter more, a natural death which your god will adore, kill them with haste and a skin tough as wood, then examine your idol, a rune to make you feel good
Rune 6
We only give runes out to our buddies, We Wardens consider ourselves refined and lucky.
Give us 2 gold and we’ll give you some change, we’ll give you you’re rune if you aren’t giga-lame.

This Gorge-ous vista is home to many
Find a nest near the canyon to meet one quite feathery
Rune 2:
In the Fallen woods, where Emeralds glisten, seek a troll who stands willing to listen
To the Highlands quick on your feet, the cruelest of trolls will meet defeat
Take their Draught, then go Down, to where Razors lay all around
- Read the Draught and heed its words until at last Agmaggan has emerged

He may not have thumbs but he’s still a Pilote,
Flying around Tanaris, he’s awfully quiet
Rune 4:

Rune 5:
Bigfoot is real and you can go meet him, Feralas is where he lives, no you aren’t dreaming
Go find his cave, oh and bring some snacks filled with potassium, he has a friend inside who would love to have them.
Would you look at the time, oh it’s getting quite late, bring my friend to his Mom when a snack he ate
Rune 6
If I was a hunter I’d be inclined, to go to SG and see what I find
A cave in the East and what lays inside, a long forgotten sketch, no artist in sight
If you should find it, a quest will be given, a new one to talk if you are driven
Navigation in these lands isn’t exactly hard, I always tell myself “near to Stonard!”
She waits you with patience and she has a kink, look I’m not one to shame but talk to her and see what you think
For her desires you’ll kill so many people, get enough for one hand from these shadowy people
She’s still not placated for now she’s like Mike, wants you to kill puppers with malice and spite. Pick us his leash, well now he won’t need it. Then head back to the mage and tell her of the deed you did
Rune 1:
This one is tricky, you should be prepared
Scrolls Promptly Assessed Transform, Infinite Answers Laid-bare
A gateway unyielding, of horrifying hue,
May only be halted by one such as you
Rune 2:
Leying around, you’ll find them scattered,
Waiting untouched for one that mattered
You’ll need some supplies from the World’s very Core, or a mage very clever can use something more. Scroll through your options to see what you can score
- Go now to lands Feral and seek one here, The next in the Hinterlands this one crystal clear
- This in Azshara, and the last in a Gorge
- Do all this and then face an enemy of course

When the meaning of life you have obtained, the right to find this rune has been ordained
- Be you ally off to Stornwind or Horde to Cities that lay Under. Speak to W or T, don’t make a blunder
- First is the paper, and you Zul observe, It is Far-rak away but it is worth
- These pesky bugs Fer-ever pestering A Las, to get what you need go give them a bash
I know they look cuddly, but kill them with spite, in the Hinterlands get feathers with due courage and might

For this rune to harvest you have to obtain the rune sheathed in light to play this new game
- In the place of great worship there now stands a guy, speak to him politely, then a lady close by
- There Are More things to do now, but first we should kill this heathen, how dare he think he can sell things, we should stop him breathing
- With your duty done now return to the beginning, a rune for cruel murder will be gifted for your quick-thinking
Rune 4:
In the Fallen woods, where Emeralds glisten, seek a troll who stands willing to listen

There is something Vengeful yet deeply serene, in death he awaits you, he yearns to be seen
Go forth to the Hinterlands, this duty you must not dodge, you’ll find this soul waiting for you near a Lodge
Now you’ve given him peace and introduced the ghost back to death, Head to Ironforge be careful not to Fal-ath the ledge
Rune 6:
To get this rune you’ll need one before, ensure you have them or you’ll find I’ve barred the door
- In the words all Fallen and green you’ll find a rope to climb, if you’re keen
- Speak to this guy and then to the next, talk his ear off and get the quest
- You’ll need some items from beasts in this wood, Fiery green ones, if you would
- The next requires murder of a beautiful princess, once dead you’ll find a plant that you’ll need to win this
- In the deep rocks of black you’ll find a bar, buy me a lager or you’ll have to say ta-ta!
- Now to the South to rest on the Shore, bring me a gift, a special symbol I’d adore
Rune 7
This guy needs saving, but hes stranded so high
Good thing in Feralas a teleporter awaits you nearby!
Find it waiting at the foot of a peak, and up we go to save the meek
There rests a flying machine, broken and busted, this requires some maneuvering for us to get over to it.
These robots will smack you and push you far back, but if you practice this could be a hack
If you manage to reach him near his flying machine, we can save Frix, his knowledge to glean
He isn’t very talkative, so heal him right up, your next rune is now coming up
Rune 1:

Rune 2:
Head to Tanaris and walk where dead sleep, the lost dead reside here, forlorn and quite meek
Or you could go to the Swamp and find the dead there, kill the lost spirits who still reside there
You could go where Thorns choke you, and find ruins of the dead, find the lost soul and you know the rest
You can always go to the Hinterlands, in a village to the East, but only one of those places do you need to seek

Rune 5
Eye would like you to know that I’m quite the collector, with this truth in sight let’s start your endeavour
- First go to Felwood, but don’t bring Jaed Near, collect one quite piercing, that fills you with fear
- Tanaris is next and this one is gooey, its surrounded by insects all stick-legged and oozy
- Feralas holds one it sits in a tower, take it from the night elf who stands there quite dour
- Stranglethorn keeps one beloved by a pirate, though his waters are still he’ll probably be irate
- These Blasted lands bore me, so go fast and mount up, slowly falling with style in the North you should look
- The Hinterlands keeps one in the city of trolls, its glowing so grab it and we’ll get back on the road
- Searing Gorge now holds one, it resides in a pit, It vibrates slowly, look just don’t think about it…
- Now do you have them, all 7 are here? Come then to Azshara, I’m waiting my dear
- I’m watching I’m waiting at my shrine you should go, somehow you should make your due reverence known
Rune 6:
These guys like to Wander the Wastes of Tanaris, but you’re going to kill them, just for some practice
It seems like they’d eaten a warlock for dinner, left his things behind when you killed them, winner!
- But you can’t read this, no you need a clue, go kill some wandering mages wont you?
- Use your new items and eureka a clue! Go South East of Gadgetzan and you’ll find something new
- Use the notes the warlock left, and then for triumph you’ll kill his pet
Rune 1:
These blasted lands all look the same, from the top of this tower it all looks so lame
At least they left treasure all locked and secured, but you’re a rogue so this lock just wont endure
Rune 2:

Rune 3:
This cave in Tanaris is really quite neat, its all full of pirates, their loot will go down a treat
Rustle in their pockets and what will you find, a medallion so precious it must be admired
There’s a guy at the Port that would really want this he’s probably Steaming but he still can’t be missed when he’s doing a cart-Wheedle
Rune 4:

Rune 5:
The Hinterlands is neat, but this place is ruined
But I spy a chest and I can’t just sneak in
A mask stands right by it, and he’s observant and keen, take his vision away lest he becomes mean
Open up that chest, and you’ll find what you seek, a rune just for you, now isn’t that neat?!
Rune 6:
If you’ve proven yourselves to the Ravens in the Manor, you’ll get to be their friend and fly their banner
Once they decide that you’re wise and mature, they’ll send you a letter that is filled with allure
- Meet with the Ravens, and see what they seek, a quest of some length gets your interest piqued:
- On your own you must enter into Zul’Farrak to find what you seek or you’ll have to go back
- Be stealthy, be sneaky, let’s cause a distraction. In tents there are vials that should cause a reaction
- Now go find some cauldrons and make a real mess, in all the confusion their satchel will weigh less
- With your new acquired items, equip one meant for the dead, you’ll find a new item waiting for you made of flesh
- With Bone and with Flesh we’ll mash them together, its just like bloody magic, look what did I tell ya!
- Is that a chest over there? Lets not be remiss, there’s something inside that you wont want to miss
- Oh I see one more chest, and its right at the top, I’ll just go loot it and then I’m sure we can stop
- Let’s go back to the Ravens and down in the basement, we’ll get a new item that serves as a replacement
- You know where we’re going, you’ve been there before, our thieves cache in Pyrewood, just open the door
- Back to the manor where this all began,you’ll get your new rune, the riddles outran
Rune 1:
These hyenas in Tanaris are laughing at me, but when I kick their butts their loot will be free
A note from a Shaman will give you a quest, well go on complete it, this isn’t a test
Now this land is Searing, you’re gonna burn up, killing these firey elementals might give you good luck…
You got a new quest? Well that is surprising, better get on with it before the moon starts rising
Over here in the Hinterlands just killing some slimes, when low and behold a note catches your eye
Guess what, it’s a quest, I bet you didn’t expect! You know what to do, and you do it best
Trying to chill in Azshara, and killing some tricksters, would you believe it, a note, bet you didn’t predict this huh?
Do that quest too, but you are so far from done. That was the hard part, now comes the fun!
Okay I lied, this part isn’t fun, but come on just keep with it, just get it done
You’ll need to go hunting, you’ll see what I mean, and when it’s all over you’ll have the rune of your dreams!
Go to Feralas and head to the West, you’ll find some water that’ll put you to the test
Collect their essence, be warned three is all you can carry, and use your previous loot, come on now, don’t tarry
So turn in your quests and then go to Feralas, over in the West you’ll meet you final enemy at last
Get him down quickly, he had a good run, now search his body for the rune, and you’re done
Rune 2:
In the Fallen woods, where Emeralds glisten, seek a troll who stands willing to listen

Over in Tanaris you’ll find a totem, it looks quite odd if I’m being open
Click it and find what gift you are given, now run to the other totem without being bitten
Rune 4:

Rune 5
These guys like to Wander the Wastes of Tanaris, but you’re going to kill them, just for some practice
It seems like they’d eaten a warlock for dinner, left his things behind when you killed them, winner!
- But you can’t read this, no you need a clue, go kill some wandering mages wont you?
- Use your new items and eureka a clue! Go South East of Gadgetzan and you’ll find something new
- Use the notes the warlock left, and then for triumph you’ll kill his pet
Rune 6:
Were you Camping in Feralas? Well did you see? A Crate is near by and it holds a key
But what does it open, I don’t see it here? I could look in that lake I guess, It has to be near
Rune 7
For this rune you’ll need a friend, going to Feralas for a rune at the end
Down in the South you should find a totem, its buzzing with electricity, practically swirling
Stand close together and your foes defeat, with shields of thunder they’ll fall to their feet
Once you kill plenty, a challenge appears, kill it with haste for your rune is near
Rune 1:
I’m setting the scene here, your name is Buffy,
You’re going to kill demons because you’re quirky and funny.
- Action in Ashenvale, we’re being invaded, go kill these intruders so your murderous streak is placated
- Three different varieties, well that is exciting, kill them all with due haste, so their numbers stand divided
- Each one of these kind of enemies left behind a new item I’m sure that’s quite normal, after all you did fight them
- Stick everything together, really jam it all in, something awaits thee, I’m sure you know what I mean
Rune 2:
This is like Crufts of the Warlock World, no you can’t enter on your own, you’ve been told!
You need an imp who doesn’t like fighting, he needs to look regal and exploring is what he delights in
There are plenty of portals, they’re appearing all over, send in your buddy and he can take over
Rune 3:

Rune 4:

There is a spreading plague in Feralas
It will kill all the natives if you don’t act fast.
- This dead shaman looks pretty Grim, look through his belongings and take something from him
- This mystic is rigid as if made of Wood, don’t feel despondent you did what you could
- With the items you found, a new staff is revealed, it is gnarled and twisted but its use is far from concealed
- Find the one who Walks the Forest,nearby the woodpaw camp is where I last saw him
- Use your staff, its the only option. A new rune to find awaits your adoption
Rune 6:

This ogre in Feralas used to like Camping, but then he went North and prefers to live quietly
He won’t be happy if he sees you, but if he has some loot? You’ll still just kill him, it’s what warriors do

Rune 4:
This place is searing, especially this pit, but this poor thing has been blown to bits!
If we look hard we can put it back together, 2 feet and 2 arms and he’ll be a happy fella
They can’t be that far if his head is in the East. Collect them all and we’ll give him release
Rune 5:
I swear this is an Adele song, but we’ll be Writhing in the Deep, head over to Feralas and see what I mean
Stalking around here is something real mean, a real Tyrant I’d call him and his bloodthirst is keen
Rune 6:
In the Hinterlands I work all day, all the trolls and spiders I’ll slay
Take their hammer and smash things to mush
You’re a warrior, you love this, you aren’t in a rush!
Use it til its broken and pieces fly out, you’ll find something useful, a rune to try out
Rune 7:
In Gadgetzan enjoying a glass of BuzFiz when all of a sudden its right down to biz.
We get a quest and it looks pretty neat, if we complete it he’ll give us a treat.
- First stop is Azshara and we’ll find our guy, he seems quite nice, not the Kajind to lie.
He’s having a problem, a problem with scales, kill the big guy in the south and the rest will turn tail
- FizBuz is happy, but has one more favour, go back to Azshara, its Kajind’s fight to savor
